Formerly known as the Clinical Research Department of Phoenix Internal Medicine Associates, LLC, Chase Medical Research’s Medical Director is Joseph Soufer, MD. With more than 25 years’ experience in Internal Medicine in the Waterbury community and a sub-specialty of Endocrinology, Dr. Soufer’s partners represent board-certified physicians from a wide range of specialty groups: Phoenix Internal Medicine Associates, LLC; Digestive Disease Center of Connecticut and Leonard I. Goldstein, PsyD of the Connecticut Resource Center. In addition, all of Chase Medical Research’s participating physicians are board certified in their specialty areas of medicine.

By providing outstanding service to our sponsors, along with superb care to patients, Chase Medical Research has grown dramatically since our inception. We’ve provided services to all the major pharmaceutical companies, as well as a number of smaller research organizations. Beginning in 2000 with one Principal Investigator (PI) and one Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC), our staff now includes one Principal Investigator (PI), six Sub-Investigators (SI), three Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC), one Registered Dietician/Certified Diabetic Educator (RD, CDE), one full-time Documentation Specialist, one Regulatory Specialist, two administrative support staff members and one full-time Patient Recruitment Coordinator.
