- Joseph Soufer, MD
- Medical Director, CEO of Chase Medical Research, Endocrinologist
As CEO and Medical Director, Dr. Soufer is responsible for the vision and growth of Chase Medical Research.
During his 30 years as a practicing physician, he has concomitantly dedicated over 25 years in research and during the past 15 years exclusively to clinical research.
His relationship with community physicians such as internists and sub-specialists, built on long term trust and confidence, has led to an increase in participants in multi-therapeutic studies.
Under his leadership, the clinical research company has grown from a staff of 1 to 25 medical and clinical research professionals today, helping connect thousands of patients to new treatment options for multiple medical conditions. Today, CMR is the leading independent, multi-therapeutic research company in Connecticut with two large investigative sites.
Over the past 25 years, Dr. Soufer also has served as the principal investigator for the majority of clinical studies conducted at CMR and has participated in over 450 clinical research studies. Before trials are offered to participants, he ensures the selected studies meet the highest standards and that each patient receives outstanding care throughout their participation in the trials.
In addition to managing and directing CMR, Dr. Soufer remains committed to community health education through many community outreach initiatives, medical symposiums, and speeches at organizations like the American Diabetes Association.
Dr. Soufer received his medical degree from the Université Libre de Bruxelles medical school in Brussels, Belgium. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT and his fellowship in endocrinology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY.
